little chefs holding up a plate of spring peas during an Allergic to Salad Cooking Class

We hope you are all staying warm while the winds roar outdoors! Allergic to Salad has some new class offerings starting next week in Brooklyn and Queens. Our hands on, STEM based culinary programs take place after school hours and are a great way to keep your young ones occupied as the cabin fever starts to set in.

Our classes create a platform for a lifetime of adventurous eating and purposeful life-skills. All classes are nut-free and vegetarian. Together we’ll hone our culinary skills by learning how to use a variety of tools (knife, grater, peeler, etc), discuss kitchen and food safety, explore new and exciting foods, and prepare dishes as diverse as Spanikopita, Sushi, and Fruity Granola! Cooking is known to increase motor skills, math skills, build self-esteem, self-reliance, and more! Classes provide instruction in kitchen safety, food handling, food prep and technique. We encourage cleanliness, proper table setting and manners.
