In-School and After-School
We provide STEM- and CORE- focused hands-on, from-scratch healthy cooking classes to after-school, in-school, and out-of-school (community) programs for students aged pre-K through high school. We bring trained educators to your location with a fully vegetarian, nut-free curriculum. Serving over 10,000 students a school year– we look forward to teaching your students!
Classes provide instruction in basic kitchen safety, food handling, food prep and techniques, including knife skills. We encourage cleanliness, proper table setting and manners. We realize many claim they are “allergic to salad”– a convenient and understandable excuse in this era of pre-packaged industrialized food. Our work combats this widespread “allergy,” while increasing skills, technique, and familiarity with healthy foods, and creating a platform for a lifetime of adventurous eating through activity-filled classes. Cooking is known to build self-esteem, self-reliance, increase motor skills, concentration, math skills, and more. We look forward to cooking with you!
There are only two rules in the cooking kitchen:
1) Try everything
2) You don’t have to like it

Family Cook Night
Come together for a dinner with your family and community. We provide a relaxed and open environment with conversations on healthy eating and food-based money saving tips, as well as ideas for how to further engage kids in the kitchen. These classes allow students to showcase their learning from the semester, although is inclusive for non-ATS students/first-time chefs as well. Open ages. We encourage all (immediate) family members to join us. (Up to 50 people.) Participants receive recipe cards and our Cooking with Kids Tip Sheet.
