This week we discussed all things Irish culture ☘️.
The students made potato leek spinach soup and Shamrock shakes. We started by washing all the produce and the students began preparing the soup. The students cut the potatoes and leeks, two students saute the garlic. Once the leeks were ready, the students sauteed those and then the potatoes.
While all the ingredients were cooked in the pot, we made the shakes.
Initially, the students had trepidation about the shake as it’s made with spinach but once all the ingredients came together they enjoyed it ☺️ I brought in an activity where the students filled in the blanks about fun facts on St. Patrick’s Day. It was a great way to discuss the culture and the history.
Overall, the students enjoyed the recipe and I enjoyed preparing it with them. One of the students shared that the soup was delicious and not as bad as he thought! That was so fulfilling to hear since new tastes can be tricky for young students.

Book a Class or Party

An on-site dinner party is an awesome way to spend time together with family and friends. Enjoy a fun evening while showing off your inner chef skills.
